I started Pontiris because the trips I’d been planning for friends kept turning out better than the ones they’d been sold. Not more expensive — better. The right neighborhood instead of the famous one. The market morning instead of the third museum. The table that’s worth the walk. And underneath all of it, the quiet knowledge of which doors open warmly, which is the part twenty years actually buys you.
Right now this is a small practice — a few trips a season, hand-planned, one at a time. That’s the shape I want it to have for a while.
None of it would exist without Matt. He has been on most of these roads with me — he helps me travel, and he helps me vet.
